How to Vote Kick in CS2

- Any player can initiate a vote kick by going to the menu, selecting ‘call vote’ and then selecting ‘kick player’.
- Four teammates need to vote ‘Yes” before a teammate actually gets kicked.
- Players who are in a 4-stack cannot kick their 5th player.
Introduction
Any match in CS2 requires strategy and team cooperation. If you find yourself playing with a teammate who is not not being a good sport, you can vote to kick them. If your teammates vote ‘yes’ then the teammate will get removed.
Initiating a vote kick in CS2 can be handy in situations like these:
- Your teammate starts abusing, provoking others, saying slurs, …
- Your teammate goes AFK for long periods of time
- Your teammate actively blocks other teammates from playing the game properly (team flashing, calling out positions in all chat, …)
Whenever a vote to kick is initiated, all players in your team can vote either “Yes” or “No”. If the majority of players vote ‘Yes’ then the player gets kicked. Do note that this leaves you with one player less: you do not get a bot on your team, and other players cannot join the game.
Therefore, it can be a good idea to talk to the player you’re about to start a vote on first. The odds are slim, but there might be a chance that they change their ways when faced with expulsion.
Steps to Vote Kick In CS2
Initiating a Vote Kick in CS2 is easy. It can be done directly from the menu.
Here are the steps to do so:
- Press the Esc key and the game menu will open.
- Click on Call Vote.
- Now select Kick Player.
- Select the name of the player you want to kick from the team.
- The voting will initiate and your teammates will get the option to vote Yes or No.
Your teammates can vote Yes with F1 and No with F2.
Do note that 4 out of 5 players have to vote Yes for the player to be kicked. If any one of your teammates feels like kicking the person is unjustified, they might vote No, and that player will remain a part of your team.
The Vote Kick right shouldn’t be abused and you must show a bit of patience with other players. Initiating a vote kick just because someone is playing badly, for example, is extremely poor behavior and should not result in a kick.
Limitations to Vote Kicking
In order to prevent abuse from 4-stacks, Valve does not allow Vote Kicking by a stack of four players. As such, if you’re queueing with 4 people and you run into a troll, you will not be able to kick them. Aside from this, there are no limitations to initiating a vote kick. Every player can start a vote, regardless of their account age, playing time, and so on.
