Introduction
SteelSeries is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and alongside other activities (such as giveaways and offering free gear with certain purchases), the brand is also celebrating with a dedicated Fortnite map. Launched on September 14, the map hosts the Pillars game mode, daily and weekly quests, and a selection of SteelSeries-themed companions to unlock. If you want to check it out for yourself, the map code is 9448-1956-0547.
What Is Pillars?
Pillars is a community-made creative gamemode in Fortnite. If you haven’t played Pillars before, the basic idea is pretty straightforward. Players start on separate pillars and fight to be the last one standing. In the basic format, you receive random weapons and items at regular intervals, which you can use to eliminate opponents or knock them off their platforms. Staying alive means making the most of whatever you’re given while avoiding falling off yourself.
It’s a fast-paced, super tense version of the classic Fortnite experience, and has rapidly become a community favorite.
SteelSeries has now, in collaboration with HideHub, released their own custom island with 25 pillars. There are SteelSeries easter eggs to be found throughout the map.

SteelSeries’ Version
Alongside the regular matches, SteelSeries has added a quest and reward system. Completing daily and weekly quests earns you SteelBits, which can then be spent on SteelSeries-themed pets and companions.
The announced community reward schedule so far covers these rewards:
- Week 1: Slime pet headset companion.
- Week 2: Flying banana earbuds companion.
- Week 3: KontrolFreek happy-pad companion.
- Week 4: Lars and White Robot companions.
The designs range from playful and cutesy to slightly more serious designs, with a nod to the brand’s products or mascots.
In addition to this, the island also features unique skills and power-ups, as well as the ability to customize your pillar.
