Introduction
It’s been years since we’ve seen a generational leap in technology in the world of gaming mice, but the moment may be here. With the release of the Logitech G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE, we’re seeing customizable clicks making their way to gaming mice after similar tech rocked the world of keyboards some years ago. Whether the tech will make a similar splash in the mouse scene as it did in the keyboard scene remains to be seen, but we’ve heard some really optimistic stories, both online and from our reviewer.
The Logitech G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE is now available to buy.
A Familiar Platform
The Logitech G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE is based on Logitech’s extremely popular G PRO X Superlight mouse. It keeps the exact same shape as the full-size model, so players and pros who are familiar with this iconic design will not need to adapt to a new shape.
The HERO 2 sensor that’s powering the mouse can also be found in Logitech’s other flagship mice, and supports up to an 8000Hz polling rate. With a weight of 61 grams, it’s also firmly within the current weight range that pros prefer.
Haptic Inductive Trigger System
The Logitech G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE is the first mouse to feature the Haptic Inductive Trigger System (HITS). This means that users are able to customize the behavior of the clicks in Logitech’s software. Gamers who require a very light and fast click will be able to configure the mouse so that it reacts to the smallest amount of pressure, for example. Similarly, those who prefer a more substantial click can set the clicks to only respond after the button has been pressed quite some distance, leading to a more robust clicking sensation.
In addition to this, there’s also customizable haptic feedback, and users are able to tweak the reset point of the switches. This means that it’s possible to create a mouse that becomes very easy for spam-clicking and other similar tasks.
Finally, the HITS implementation also means that the click latency will be reduced by 9-30ms, according to Logitech. Reducing latency is obviously always impressive, but modern gaming mice already respond extremely quickly, so we don’t expect this aspect to be a big game-changer in practice for most people.
In any case: it’s very exciting to see a brand trying to push the envelope when it comes to gaming mice, and we’re excited to see how the clicks will feel in practice in various games.
Already On Pro Desks
Pros have already been using the SUPERSTRIKE, even months before its official release. At the time of writing, m0NESY, one of CS2’s most influential pros, has been using the mouse for a couple of weeks. In VALORANT, benjyfishy is another notable pro who has been using Logitech’s latest.
Obviously, this doesn’t necessarily mean much about how groundbreaking a product is. But, historically speaking, when we see a certain number of pros on an unreleased product, the chances of that product making a big splash in the scene become significantly higher.
Available Now
Those who want to try out this newly developed tech can buy the G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE right now via Logitech’s website. Of course, we will also have a full and in-depth review of the mouse on our website, so stay tuned for that too.
