Introduction
Support Class isn’t for just anyone; it’s a class for patient players with a team-minded attitude. If you like playing the frontlines aggressively, Assault is the one for you. Support roles are typically restricted to staying hand-in-hand with your team and supporting them with your kit.
So, let’s dive into this quick guide. From interesting gadgets to the best loadout, here’s everything you need to know.
Support: The Backbone Of A Squad
Support isn’t just another class — it keeps your teammates up and fighting longer than any other class. If you’re new to Battlefield 6 but still want to be impactful in the rounds, it can be a good class to start out as. That doesn’t mean that it’s easy to play or inferior to the other classes (quite the opposite) but you do get to stay out of harm’s way a bit more as support, as you can rack up tons of points without ever making a kill.
Signature Set
Each class has a signature set. Think of them as abilities and perks exclusive to that class. For the support class, these are:
Signature Gadget: Supply Bag – Resupplies teammates with ammo and health.
Signature Weapon: LMG – Better proficiency with the LMGs
Signature Trait: Field Sustainment- Distribute health packs to teammates when they directly interact with you.
Class Active Ability: Support’s signature ability is Restock Allies. It heals and resupplies ammo for all nearby teammates for 10 seconds while reducing revive time to only 1.7 seconds.
Training Path
| Combat Medic | Fire Support |
|---|
| Revive teammates 20% faster | Boosts mounted/bipodded weapon accuracy |
| Health regeneration for revived teammates | Explosive damage is reduced by 25% when prone/mounted |
| Boosts defensive gadgets’ durability & effectiveness | Enhances suppression tactics and defensive gadgets |
Supports training paths include Combat Medic and Fire Support. One is targeted more towards aiding teammates and supporting from the backlines, while the other thrives at offering support utility like better mounted accuracy and enhanced suppression.
Gadgets
Defibrillator (Default)
With the Defibrillator, revives are instant. Charge it up and revive your teammates to get them into battle quickly. Quick tip: don’t just revive whenever you can. If you see an enemy lying in a haze of enemy bullets, don’t rush in to quickly get a revive. It will get you and your teammate killed pretty much all the time.
Maxguard 900 – Deployable Cover (Default)
A portable cover that you can place down. Toss it out to block enemy sightlines, revive safely, or lock down narrow hallways. It also serves as a mounting point for weapons; you can use it for yourself, or better yet, toss it down for a Recon to snipe on.
GPDIS – Grenade Projectile Intercept System (Rank 5)
The GPDIS intercepts incoming grenades and other throwable items, effectively reducing their impact. Toss it near your team’s fallback position or near objectives to counter grenades and keep your teammates safe from throwables.
MP-APS – Missile Projectile Intercept System (Rank 31)
Taking a step up, the MP-APS counters larger projectiles, including tank shells and missiles. Deploy this strategically and you’ll be able to defend your team and fortifications against lethal enemy fire.
LWCMS – Lightweight Counter Mortar System (Rank 49)
The LWCMS is a portable mortar that supports the team with explosive anti-infantry shells and smoke rounds. Use it to break through heavy enemy presence, suppress defensive positions or provide smoke cover as your team marches forward.
M320A1 SMK – Smoke Grenade Launcher (Support Specialist 1 Assignment)
This smoke grenade launcher fires off a smoke shell, clouding the area with thick smoke and paving the way for your team to reposition or fall back safely. It makes it difficult to see in the smoke, providing excellent cover anywhere on the battlefield.
Supply Pouch (Support Specialist 1 Assignment)
This kit restores both ammo and health for teammates nearby. Don’t wait until things get out of control and use it before advancing into a combat zone or when you’re locking down an objective.
SICH G1 WP – Incendiary Airburst Launcher (Support Specialist 2 Assignment)
This launcher fires explosive rounds that set enemy spots on fire, destroy cover, and deal impactful damage against stacked enemies. It’s perfect for clearing choke points or flushing out enemies from that one frustrating trench.
Beginner’s Guide (Tips)
Keep these tips in mind to become a better Support player.
Use Suppression Smartly
Suppression delays the enemy’s health regeneration rate. So, if you see someone trying to duck out of a fight and heal, target them with suppressing fire and finish them before they can fully heal up. It’s also a great way to pin enemies down. This can help hold off aggressive opponents and give your team enough time to flank or reposition safely.
Revive Behind Cover
This one should go without saying for most, but for the beginners out there: never revive a teammate out in the open. If a teammate goes down, drag them behind cover before you start reviving, or better yet, deploy a Portable Cover if you have one. It’s the difference between getting your teammates back on the battlefield and falling next to them and dying.
Block Entry Points
If your team is half-decent at coordination, you can use the Portable Cover at chokepoints to bottleneck enemy pushes. Try mounting your LMG or going prone with a bipod when you’re holding a narrow sightline. It improves your aim and makes it steady.
First Steps
If you’re just getting used to the Support Class, your basic role should be to stay behind the Assault team and look for fallen teammates to revive. You should use Supply Bags consistently and keep nearby teammates replenished.
