Razer products have been on the rise lately, with 2024 being a particularly good year for the brand. A clear example of that is the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro. After an impressive climb over the past six months, it’s now the most used keyboard across all of our analyzed games. The most popular form factor, the TKL, is popular enough to be crowned as the king of gaming keyboards on its own. Add in the full-size version and the Mini and the dominance of this keyboard becomes even clearer.

In this article, we’ll explore the impressive rise of the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro, and find out why the Huntsman V3 Pro TKL is currently the most used keyboard in pro gaming.

Release

The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro line was released in September 2023 as Razer’s answer to the explosive rise of analog gaming keyboards. Analog gaming keyboards offer a large amount of advantages over regular mechanical gaming keyboards, and that is something that the pro scene had noticed.

Features like Rapid Trigger (whereby a switch automatically and instantly resets itself the moment you let it go, leading to much snappier and more reliable inputs) can make ingame actions like movement a lot more responsive and are only achievable on analog keyboards. As such, it’s no surprise that these keyboards have found their way onto the desks of the majority of professional players.

At first, the Huntsman V3 Pro line was ‘simply’ another option in the realm of analog gaming keyboards, but it didn’t take long for Razer to match -and even surpass- its main competitors when it comes to pure gaming performances.

Tweaking and improving

Another advantage of analog keyboards lies in the fact that manufacturers can easily push updates to the keyboard’s core functionality. A mechanical switch is simply on or off, whereas an analog switch can detect the entire range of motion. This means that manufacturers can tweak and improve the behavior of their analog keyboards. That’s something that Razer has been working on continuously since the release of the Huntsman V3 Pro line; updating and reiterating to make their keyboard the best it can possibly be.

The New #1

Following all of the recent improvements and tweaks, the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro is now –according to Razer’s inhouse testing– the fastest and most reponsive gaming keyboard on the market. Combine that with the fact that it’s available in the three most popular form factors and has been continuously supported with updates and new features for almost a year, and you’ve got a keyboard that’s loved in the professional gaming scene.

As of writing, it’s the #1 keyboard on ProSettings.net, making Razer the #1 keyboard brand on ProSettings.net. That’s an impressive feat, especially given the fact that Razer were not the first ones to introduce analog keyboards to the market.

The future

If you ask us, the future of gaming keyboards is optical. The myriad of advantages that optical gaming keyboards offer over traditional mechanical boards cannot be ignored, and taking a simple glance at what the pros are using is enough to confirm that they feel the same.

Currently, 50.4 % of pros are using analog keyboards

As an added advantage, optical keyboards use light instead of magnets, which makes the switches far less susceptible to mechanical failure or environmental factors that might impact the performance of the switches. The ceiling for analog keyboards hasn’t been reached at all, and it’s going to be exciting to see what manufacturers such as Razer can come up with for the future.

This is so biased and the “SPONSORED BY RAZER” made it obvious why there is no talk of Wooting but instead of Competitor A. Wootings 60HE+ and the new TKL thats coming out have way more upsides than a 0.1ms inpercievable difference.
