9. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Free to Play | Download Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Takeshi’s Castle fans assemble! Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is all about survival of the cheekiest and smartest. Sixty players jump into a colorful adventure and at the end there’ll only be one bean-shaped character left standing.

This isn’t a typical shooting battle royale but it does have some of the most unique mini-games that you can experience. Each match consists of multiple minigames that you have to play, and those range from obstacle courses to what’s essentially a game of tag on a rotating platform with a bunch of collapsing floor panels. Finish last (or below the top portion of the other players in the match) and you’re out.

Even though the game looks a bit funny and super casual, there are definitely ways to completely outplay your opponents, so if you want to hone your skills you can do that in this game. Grab onto your opponents when they make a crucial jump, try that one risky skill jump that allows you to save some time, …

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout was a massive phenomenon when it first launched, and while it has lost some of its steam since it first released it’s still a massively popular game.

8. The Eliminator (Forza Horizon 4 and 5)

$59.99 | Purchase Forza Horizon 5 on Steam

The Eliminator, set in the world of Forza Horizon, is one of the most unique battle royales you’ll come across. Here, you won’t be fighting against other humans or robots, but rather against other cars.

72 cars start the battle and only 1 survives in the end. You start with a 196 Mini Cooper S if playing in The Great Britain map in Forza Horizon 4, and a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle if playing in the Mexico map in Forza Horizon 5.

The goal is to eliminate other cars by either trapping them outside the playable area or beating them in races. Being a good racer will obviously get you very far in The Eliminator, but there’s a strategy element as well: choosing which cars to challenge is a crucial step in the process of winning an Eliminator match.

7. Realm Royale Reforged

Free to Play | Download Realm Royale Reforged on Steam

At its core, Realm Royale Reforged is just a basic battle royale game. Select your class, acquire weapons, find loot, and take on your opponents. Do all of that while making sure to stay ahead of the ever-so-close deadly fog.

Realm Royale Reforged has a number of aspects to it that makes it unique, however.

For one, there’s the setting. Set in a world of magic and wizardy, the game offers an experience that feels like a blend between Fortnite, World of Warcraft, and Apex Legends.

As far as the weapons go you can take a typical shotgun or sniper, but you can also go with bows, axes, and ice staffs. There are many weapons and magical abilities to employ in this game as you try to gain the edge over your opponents.

Something else that’s rather unique to RRR is the fact that you always have your mount by your side to summon and escape the deadly fog, and the best part about this game is the fact that you won’t completely die if an enemy kills you. Rather, you’ll turn into a chicken. Yes, a chicken! Survive for long enough without getting another knockout, and you will change back to your character. This makes for some exciting gameplay, and RRR’s other unique twists and features make it a game that we love playing.

6. CRSED: F.O.A.D.

Free to Play | Download CRSED: F.O.A.D. on Steam

CRSED: F.O.A.D is not a traditional battle royale but rather an MMO last-man-standing shooter that plays host to some pretty brutal matches.

The task is the same as in other battle royale games: survive ’til the end. And for that, you need to use a variety of weapons and skills to outsmart and outplay your enemies. Use snipers, machine guns, bolt-action rifles, rockets, grenades, and other weapons to tear your enemies apart.

The unique factor of CRSED: F.O.A.D. lies in its playable characters. Those all have different superpowers and you can use some awesome powers to change the entire dynamic of a match. You can flood the entirety of the map, summon zombies, teleport people, cause the sun to eclipse, and a lot more. Using these jaw-dropping abilities to your advantage can feel amazing, and this supernatural horror-style twist on a fan-favorite genre is one that we really appreciate.

There are some special events and missions as well, and new content is added to the game frequently,. so the game stays fresh.

5. Rogue Company

Free to Play | Download Rogue Company on Steam

Rogue Company is a third-person tactical shooter with 4v4 and 6v6 game modes. The game isn’t a traditional battle royale but some of the game modes are similar to Fortnite, which is why we’ve included it in the list.

Firstly, you have the Demolition mode which is similar to Counter-Strike. Plant a bomb and have it go off, or prevent that exact same thing from happening if you’re on the other side. Then there’s also Extraction, where you have to activate a certain terminal in the game world. The best mode, if you ask us, is Strikeout, where the players eliminate each other in an exciting battle. You can respawn, but respawns are limited, and if you hack an opponent’s respawn terminal you decrease their respawn count.

Do you go for the risky terminal push or do you play it safe and just go for eliminations? Those decisions are all part of the reason Rogue Company is so exciting to play.

4. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt

Free to Play | Download Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt on Steam

This quite simply plays like a collaboration between Fortnite and some blood-sucking vampires. As you’d guess, the game is set at night, since vampires don’t survive in the sun. If you like your battle royale games and you love that kind of baroque, gothic horror theme then you’ll feel right at home in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt.

Fight against hunters and other vampires, and suck their blood to restore your health. There’s a host of supernatural abilities to choose from to lay waste to your enemies, so you can go in like a blazing tornado or play it a bit more quietly: the choice is yours.

Locations like graveyards, nightclubs, and of course rooftops are available in the map which is set in Prague. This is a thrilling and slightly more serious take on battle royale games, so if you’re after a less cartoony experience, this could be it for you.

3. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

Free to Play | Download Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 on Battle.net

Call of Duty: Warzone is a game that doesn’t need a lot of introduction. Who hasn’t heard of Call of Duty? Warzone is basically CoD’s take on a Battle Royale.

It’s the successor to (you guessed it) Warzone 1.0, and there are a lot of changes from Warzone 1. In Warzone 2.0, you’re a lot slower, for starters. This puts the focus more on precise gunplay and aim rather than movement. There are now also Strongholds on the map, which contain AI enemies and a ton of valuable loot should you defeat said enemies. The Gulag is now 2v2 instead of 1v1, so if you get eliminated in the actual match you’ll have a second chance to reenter the battlefield, but only if you defeat your opponents in the Gulag.

If you like the fast-paced, loot-and-loadout-oriented gameplay of CoD and you also love the battle royale type of gameplay then this game will absolutely scratch that itch. A must-try for any battle royale or CoD fan.

2. PUBG: Battlegrounds

Free to Play | Download PUBG: Battlegrounds on Steam

Well, PUBG: Battlegrounds doesn’t need much of an introduction. We all know how the game took off and basically (along with DayZ) made the battle royale genre to the behemoth that it is today.

You are one of the 100 players that drop on one of the multiple maps in the game. The first objective is to not die early while looting weapons and armor. As soon as you have decent enough gear, the fights begin until the last player or team remains. It’s simple. It’s difficult. It’s addicting.

PUBG is one of the more serious, ‘tryhard’ battle royale games out there, so if you’re a sweaty gamer who likes to dive in deep with a game that’s as punishing as it can be rewarding, PUBG is a great game to play. No abilities, no crazy respawn scenarios or movement tech: it’s just you, your weapons, maybe a vehicle, and 99 other players. Best player standing wins.

Thanks to the competitive nature of the game, the esports scene of PUBG is huge, with multiple championships going on each year. Both the PC and mobile versions are played by millions of gamers across the globe, making PUBG one of the most iconic battle royale games to ever exist.

Of course, the award-winning battle royale, Apex Legends is number one on the list. Termed as the next evolution of battle royale, Apex Legends has dozens of legendary characters with unique abilities, and the roster keeps increasing.

In this team-based BR game, you have to rely on teamplay, precise movement, strategy, and of course precise gunplay in order to outmaneuver your opponents, and the fast-paced gameplay along with the multiple ways in which you can outplay enemies makes Apex Legends so extremely popular with the competitive crowd.
